This is my seventh year teaching art and my second year teaching at Ladue Middle School. I love teaching art and I'm honored to be working with the students, parents, guardians, and staff at LMS! Here's a little bit about me.
I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with an emphasis in printmaking from Truman State University and a Master in Education from Maryville University. My own artwork consists primarily of pen and ink drawings, watercolors, and prints. However, I love working with all art materials and spent most of my time during the summer of 2013 creating ceramic pieces.
Before joining the staff at LMS, I completed my student teaching at Maplewood Richmond Heights Middle School, taught for three years at Eureka High School and two years at Ladue Horton Watkins High School. At the high school level, I taught art fundamentals, drawing, painting, and AP Art History. Now that I teach Middle School, I do a little bit of everything!
I enjoy traveling, cooking, and sipping coffee with my husband. While we don’t have any children, we have a cat by the name of Mr. Darcy, who is very dog-like (he plays fetch and greets people at the door) and spoiled. Recently, I started reading more young adult literature to keep up with what my students where reading. I fell in love with the genre and I've read all of The Hunger Games books, The Divergent series, and The Fault in Our Stars. Currently, I'm making my way through The Giver Quartet series.
